"MRS. MARY ETTA THOMPSON
FREEHOLD -- Mrs. Mary Etta Thompson, 88, of 6 John St., died yesterday at her home.
Born in Neptune, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth LeCompte Matthews. She was a lifelong county resident. She was a member of the Wets Farms Methodist Church, Howell Township.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur Thompson of Englishtown and Fred Thompson of this place; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Wrobleski of this place and Mrs. Harry Hafeman of Howell Township; a brother, Frank Matthews, of Jerseyville; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home with Rev. G. Kerry Robb, pastor of the First Methodist Church, here, officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery."

"GEORGE THOMPSON FATALLY STRIKEN
George Otis Thompson, 87, of West Farms Road, Howell Township, fell dead yesterday morning just as he was about to put some packages in his auto which was parked in the Freehold borough parking lot, off Mechanic Street.
The Freehold First Aid Squad rushed to the scene and called police. A Farmingdale physician said that Mr. Thompson had had a heart condition for several years.
A gardener for many years, Mr. Thompson was born Feb. 4, 1871, in Millhurst, a son of the late George and Sarah Vanderhoff Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Thompson, two sons, Arthur, of Englishtown, and Frederick, Freehold; and two daughters, Mrs. Harry Hafeman, Howell Township, and Mrs. Anthony Wroblewski, Freehold Township.
The VanSant Funeral Home, freehold, is in charge of funeral arrangements."

Wedding announcement from Freehold Transcript, Mar. 17, 1919: THOMPSON-HAFEMAN: A very pretty home wedding took place on Sunday afternoon, March 2, 1919, at 4 o'clock at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hafeman of near Freehold, when Miss Helen Thompson of Tennent, and their son, Harry S. Hafeman, were quietly married. Only the immediate relatives of the families were present. The ceremonywas performed by Rev. Frank Symmes of Old Tennent Church. The bride was very becomingly attired in a gown of white crepe. Immediately after the ceremony luncheon was served and the bride and groom then left on a short wedding trip. On their return, they will make their home in Freehold where they have already furnished a home.
