- DEATH: Obit in Monmouth Democrat, 6 Dec 1919:
" Denise Thompson, of Ocean Grove, committed suicide by shooting himself while in bed early Wednesday morning. His wife was awakened by the report of the revolver, and on ogin to is room found him dead with a wound in his side. Although he had been in ill health for some time there had been noting unusual in his actions.
" Mr. Thompson who was 52 years of age, was the some of the late John Bergen Thompson and was born in Freehold on the Thompson homestead near the town. When a young man he went to Ocean Grove and engaged int he florist business with his father, which he conducted up to the time of his death.
" Mr. Thompson was married about nine years ago to Miss Ethel Parker, who survives him with one daughter, Helen Louise. Two sisters also survive Mrs. William P. McMichael and Miss Cornelia Thompson of Asbury Park.
" He was a veteran of the Spanish war having served witht he Asbury park Company."
