Died:
- Obit: Mr. Thompson, 92, of Englishtown, died Oct. 17, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Freehold Township and had resided in Englishtown since 1941. Mr. Thompson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and worked for over 60 years as a self employed gravedigger in many local cemeteries. His wife, Adelette Blair Thompson, died in 2006. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay B. and Marta Thompson, Tobyhanna, Pa., and Jon H. and Maria Thompson, Englishtown; a sister, Helen Kollman, Grand Ledge, Mich.; and six grandchildren. A joint memorial service for Mr. Thompson and his late wife will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Englishtown, 50 Main St., Englishtown on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Englishtown. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements.
